What did the Romans ever do for us?

Your investigation:

Was Roman rule in Britain a good or bad thing?

Your work:

A conversation/argument between two people.
  • One person thinks Roman rule was bad for Britain.
  • The other person thinks Roman rule was good for Britain.

They can be two present-day students or two historians. Or they can be a Roman and a Celt.

The conversation can be
  • a written script or
  • a comic strip or
  • an acted scene
Do your own research... but here are some links to start you off.

Thanks for your comment, Anonymous. Are you a student or a parent? I'd be interested to know why you found it implausible: was it because there was too much information, or not enough? It's certainly an issue that is hotly debated by historians.
I note your point about History FLOS. However, there are currently 6 FLOS on the blog (4 about family history, 1 about the Iron age and the one on the Romans) as well as 4Black Death investigations which you are welcome to try. In addition, my classes have had to prepare a group role play as a FLO and been given the option to finish work on Roman Leyton at home, too. Students who have asked for extra work have always been given some. If you'd like something more structured like a worksheet I can happily provide it.
And I will take your comment on board and make these available in class for students to take home.
